Bible Study

Every morning I read a passage from my NIV Daily Bible. Gradually I've gone from passively reading it to actually studying it. I like to find cross-references, underline, and write notes in the margins. I'm using pencil, so it will probably smudge over time. I don't use markers or highlighters because they bleed through the thin pages. I feel like I'm really learning a lot about God's Word. That's good, because I refer to it  and quote from it in my own books, and I want what I say to be accurate. Another good thing about reading the Bible daily is that it helps me start the day off with a positive attitude and wards off depression and anxiety (with which I have struggled for years). But the best thing about it is that it makes me feel like God is very near and He is pleased with me because I’m studying His Word. I want Him to be pleased with me. That’s more important to me than anything else.
